Peter Kent started his Practice soon after leaving Bristol University in 1981, while at the same time working with his Sister and Brother-in-law in their Practice. Peter then spent some years as the Chief Architect to a Housing Developer, specialising in individually designed developments of houses up to 8000 sq ft in area, while at the same time maintaining the 'home' Practice for private and developer clients.

The work load grew to the extent that in 1996 Peter was able to devote all his time to the Practice, and has continued since then meeting the needs of a wide range of clients, from large housing and commercial developers to race horse breeders and trainers to householders wanting a imaginative extension.

The Practice has deliberately stayed small, working from home and able to devote personal attention to all projects. It comprises Peter, the Architect, Clare, the Administrator, and one or two students, and we have access to professional outside assistance as required.

The Practice undertakes all building forms, but has become known for Housing, Equestrian and small commercial projects in an area ranging from Bristol to London and the South East.

Peter is associated with a number of Architecture related organizations - see LINK page for more details.

The Practice is a RIBA Registered Practice and carries Professional Indemnity Insurance. Peter is registered with the RIBA as a Planning Supervisor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1996 and is an Associate Member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Health. Peter has also undertaken the RIBA Course in Access Auditing and accessible design for the Disability Discrimination Act.

Peter is also a member of the Association for Environmentally Conscious Building, and the Green Register, and has a firm commitment to sustainable design.
